The Story So Far

You are Captain Pick-a-Card, the pilot of a ramshackle ship trying to escape an asteroid field. Your ship's systems are barely held together. You'll only have a limited amount of options you can use every turn.

Reach the top of the screen to escape the asteroid field!

 Play Cards

• Play a card by selecting the card along the bottom of the grid.
• Click on the circles on the grid to play it.
• You must play two cards every turn.

 

 Dodge Asteroids

• Asteroids will move their speed value (the number on the asteroid) each turn after you play your cards.
• Running into asteroids will kill you.
• Asteroids running into you will kill you.

 Recycle Duds

• Each turn you can Recycle one card.
• This will let discard the currently selected card and draw a replacement card for free.

Original Jam Submission

Rocket Jockey was originally created for the JS13k game jam in 2021.  I wrote a post-mortem about the jam on my blog. I'm really happy with how Rocket Jockey came out, so I wanted to upload it on Itch.io as well. :-)
